FAQ

can you freeze it?

I have. Just leave enough room at the top for expansion so that you don’t blow out the top. Not air… Squeeze the air out. Just fill it 80-90% then squeeze the air out before freezing.

What size lids are compatible to fit on this? Since it is a screw-on lid, I want to make sure that the lid size, type and threading will match.

The actual inside diameter of the lid is 2 7/8″ ,the inside diameter of the threads is 2 1/4″. The particular type of threading isn’t something I can measure. I am still trying to figure out what it is that you want to screw onto the canteen? If you buy one you will be happy you did, you can freeze them and they seem to be very durable as well as compact when not in use as you can roll it up.

I’ll admit, I’m trying to take some alc. on a cruise. I’m thinking, sliding this into a shoe packed in checked luggage? Think this will work? (48oz)

I bought two, one had small sprues or flags along that cut my skin when I unpacked it so I set it aside. I wish I had either returned it right away or checked it out more thoroughly because when I wanted to put it in service it leaked as soon as I started to fill it. Unfortunately I didn’t realize it had other defects beside the sloppy was defective to return Amazon until AFTER it could not be returned. Beware 48oz could be a large liquid surprise when you open your suitcase!

Reviews & Experience

PIIKOK: Puchased this Nalgene Cantene and Reviewed that “Nice Cantene!” I love this cantene! It makes it easy for me to remember to drink more water, since I don’t have to fill it up as often as the usual 16oz or 24oz bottle. The compact design is perfect for school or traveling. I love that it’s easy to stand the bottle up, even when below half full. The loop that comes from the lid makes for a nice carrying handle, which I enjoy rather than freezing my hand off while holding the body of the cantene. I foresee this being easier to fill up at public water fountains, which usually require me to tilt my water bottles to fill them up.
